Platinum Equity, Los Angeles, Calif., has completed the acquisition of Aether Transportation, a division of Aether Systems Inc.
The transaction closed on Friday, following approval on Sept. 15 by stockholders of Aether Systems Inc., which divested the business as part of a restructuring to focus on its new mortgage-backed securities business.
Platinum executives said the business would be established as a standalone company. After a transition period, the company will be renamed and a new brand identity launched in the marketplace.
