DuraBrake, a California manufacturer of brake drums, discs and wheel hubs for off-highway equipment, trucks, and trailers has announced a 20% increase in its research and development budget.

To improve service and penetration in the OEM and transit markets, DuraBrake continues to develop new braking technologies in the form of enhanced monitoring and braking performance designs.
The company had acquired 50 years of R&D from its acquisition of the brake drum division of Durametal, but it formally plans to initiate its new R&D division in the beginning of next year.
DuraBrake has met its increased presence in the OEM market with continued efforts to refine and develop innovative brake system technologies that expand beyond its traditional focus on drums and discs.
Durabrake’s enhanced R&D efforts are part of its comprehensive strategy to meet changing standards in the wheel-end industry. DuraBrake will still focus heavily on the metallurgical and design component of its product development; but the expanded R&D efforts will facilitate the exploration of value-added products, technologies, and services for the transit and OEM markets.
