Alan S. Dawes, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Delphi Corp., has been elected 2004-2005 chairman of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Assn. (MEMA) board of directors.

MEMA’s other new officers are:
First vice chairman – Michael Cardone Jr., president and CEO of Cardone Industries
Second vice chairman – Alfred L. Stecklein, group president of Worldwide Aftermarket, Gates Corp.
Executive Committee Members at-large: Charles G. (Chip) McClure, CEO and president of Federal-Mogul Corp.; and Terry R. McCormack, president of Dana Automotive Aftermarket Group.
Alan J. DeVore, OE president of Mark IV Automotive/Dayco Products LLC, will remain as treasurer. Eugene E. Ezzell, chairman, president and CEO of Crane Technologies Group, will continue as treasurer.
Outgoing MEMA Chairman Scott Meyer, who stepped down from day-to-day operations last week as president of Ken-Tool, was named MEMA president until a permanent president and CEO is found. As a result, Ronald Cutler, TRW Automotive, will continue to serve on the board as past chairman.
Dawes serves on Delphi’s board of directors and is also a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company’s top policy-making group. He is responsible for Delphi’s finance, information systems and mergers and acquisitions staffs. His duties include oversight of Delphi’s Automotive Holdings Group. Dawes also serves as the executive champion for Delphi’s Financial Task Team.
MEMA exclusively serves the aftermarket and original equipment automotive and heavy duty product manufacturing industry. MEMA supports its members through its three market segment associations: Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Assn. (AASA), Heavy Duty Manufacturers Assn. (HDMA) and Original Equipment Suppliers Assn. (OESA).
