Velocity Express Corp., Minneapolis, Minn., announced significant expansion,
including new cross dock facilities in Las Vegas, Nev., Woburn, Mass., Romulus, Mich., Downey, Calif., and Cleveland, Ohio.
Velocity said that it recently upgraded capacity in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, Louisiana, Texas and Tennessee and that it expects to open new facilities in Knoxville, Tenn., Madison, Wis., Tallahassee, Fla.. and Myrtle Beach, S.C. within 60 days.
"Over 30% of our facilities have increased capacity in the last 90 days," said Jeffrey T. Hendrickson, Velocity COO. "The program has involved strategically repositioning the distribution centers, increasing their size and adding functionality to support the changes in our business and demands of our customers."
