TransCore, Hummelstown, Pa., has launched CarrierWatch, an online service for shippers and freight brokers
to monitor and verify carrier credentials.
Transcore operates the nation’s largest load matching service.
CarrierWatch is a sister service of the TransCore Registry, which was launched last month. In that announcement, Transcore said the registry would help carriers market their services to brokers, shippers and third-party logistics providers.
CarrierWatch relies on Transcore’s database of key information on more than 25,000 North American motor carriers. CarrierWatch subscribers can search the database using as many as 60 different criteria to find the resources they need.
CarrierWatch will help companies avoid using unsafe, unauthorized or underinsured carriers and will reduce the time-consuming paperwork that is normally a part of the hiring process. The service can also serve as a prime source for finding additional equipment capacity.
