XATA Corp., Minneapolis, Minn., reported net sales of $4.7 million in its second quarter of fiscal 2004

, which ended Mar. 31, 2004, compared to $1.7 million in the second quarter last year.
However, the on-board computer and fleet management systems provider reported a net loss of $170,000, or $0.02 per share for the quarter, versus a net loss of $1.4 million, or $0.20 per share for the same period last year.
"We were pleased with the revenue growth in our second fiscal quarter," reported Craig Fawcett, XATA president and chief executive officer. "Sales of our OpCenter enterprise fleet management system were strong, led by sales to the United States Postal Service. In addition, we recently began fulfilling orders for our XATANET web-based fleet management system under our program with Penske Truck Leasing, a program that we consider to have great potential."
