Truck drivers at the USF Dugan terminal in Mobile, Ala. voted by a three-to-one margin to join Teamsters Local 991 Friday.

This is the first victory in the union's national campaign to organize workers at USF Dugan and USF Bestway. There are nearly 10,000 Teamsters at other freight companies owned by USF Corp.: USF Red Star, USF Reddaway, USF Holland and some USF Bestway terminals.
"This is the first step in our efforts to increase a Teamsters presence in the freight industry," said Jim Hoffa, Teamsters general president.
Workers at other USF Dugan terminals have filed petitions with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for elections in the coming weeks. Elections are scheduled April 9 for USF Dugan workers in Cincinnati and Nashville and on April 23 in Memphis.
