Directfreightconnect, Safety Harbor, Fla., has launched a new web site offering shippers and carriers tools to connect directly for arrangement of freight delivery.

The web address is http://directfreightconnect.com.
According to the announcement, shippers can post loads online for truckers to view and make contact with the shippers. The site also provides the ability to request bids on future shipments or permanent lane opportunities, then view the bids on-line at a future date.
Carriers can post trucks for shippers to view, bid on future shipments, or make use of a current list of loads in the area in which freight is needed.
Users may post their own information in real time on the web site. They can also call in, fax or e-mail information for input by web site personnel.
