Marten Transport Ltd. announced it is unleashing a new owner-operator purchase program that will help drivers achieve the goal of owning their own equipment.
First-time truck buyers can now own their own equipment for as little as $1,000 down at the time of purchase. The program offers 24- and 36-month payoff options with no balloon payment, a two-year/200,000 mile warranty, and two years of free tax service. In addition, drivers are buying late model Freightliner tractors through an exclusive offer available only to Marten Transport.
Marten Transport says it also offers drivers and owner-operators stability, plenty of miles and what the company terms an excellent pay and benefits package.
Last month, owner-operators received a 1-cent pay increase to 84 cents per mile. Marten pays all license fees, including base plates, and tolls. The company files and pays state fuel and mileage tax returns and provides a fuel surcharge program. All of this, combined with the raise, brings an owner-operator’s total pay package equivalent to 94.5 cents per mile, according to Marten.
