SMC³, Peachtree City, Ga. announced that its 2004 Contract Law Seminar will take place May 11 at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel in Atlanta.
This seminar will interest anyone involved in preparing or executing transportation-related contracts.
The seminar will feature transportation law expert John Bagileo, who has been practicing transportation law for more than 30 years, representing the interests of both carriers and shippers in regulatory matters. Bagileo has represented clients in rulemaking proceedings and litigation disputes on regulatory issues, contracts, sale and merger transactions, licensing, safety and legislative enactments that have changed the face of transportation regulation.
This year’s presentations include a discussion on post-Sept. 11 contractual clauses, which will address matters that are not typically considered in commercial contracts, but are now required because of regulatory requirements and the economic environment. Elements of a comprehensive request-for-proposal and common errors in carrier bid responses will also be discussed.
Additional topics include must-have contract clauses; critical terms in broker, shipper and carrier contracts; intermodal transportation agreements and new case law.
Registration fee is $275-375, based upon SMC³ membership status and the number of people attending from the same firm.
