BorgWarner Emissions has developed engine-cooling technology designed to meet the requirements of the North American Class 8 EPA-compliant engines.

Cool Logic proprietary fan clutch technology offers increased torque capacity and multi-speed operation, which electronically controls fan speed for optimized engine cooling. The new technology also provides increased fuel economy benefits and reduces fan noise. Its robust design increases durability under the higher heat environments of future heavy trucks. It is also designed to be completely maintenance free.
Cool Logic is undergoing vigorous duty cycle testing at the BorgWarner Emissions/Thermal Systems test labs in Marshall, Mich. Vehicle field tests will begin later this year. Production is expected to begin during mid- 2005.
BorgWarner Emissions/Thermal Systems, part of the BorgWarner Engine Group, is a Michigan-based designer and supplier of components and systems for engine, air and thermal management and for emissions controls for the global vehicle market.
