Volvo Logistics North America Inc. has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) SmartWay Transport Partnership, a national partnership to help reduce emissions from ground freight transportation.

The SmartWay Transport Partnership promotes long-term cost savings, fuel consumption reduction and efficiency improvement, thereby reducing U.S. dependence on imported oil.
"Volvo Logistics is proud to be a part of this important partnership" said Susan Alt, president and CEO. "Volvo has long been committed to finding ways to care for our environment, and this is another step."
By joining the SmartWay Transport Partnership, Volvo Logistics North America furthers its commitment to environmental leadership and corporate responsibility. As a global freight buyer of $1 billion annually, it will strive to contract only with freight carriers who invest in the latest emission reduction technology in their equipment operation.
