For the third consecutive year, Frito-Lay North America has awarded all four of the Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. (Con-Way) regional less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carriers their "LTL Carrier of the Year" award.

Carriers were evaluated on service, ease of doing business, innovation and feedback from Frito-Lay field personnel and suppliers.
At ceremonies held in Plano, Texas, Barry Mulkay, Frito-Lay director of carrier operations, presented the award to Mike McDonough and Robert Bockenfeld of Con-Way who accepted it on behalf of Con-Way Central Express, Con-Way Southern Express, Con-Way Western Express and Con-Way Canada Express.
"Con-Way is three for three in on-time performance, professionalism and coverage. They are an important reason the Frito-Lay supply chain performed superbly in 2003," said Mulkay.
Con-Way's LTL carriers handled more than 105,000 shipments for Frito-Lay in 2003 and had an on-time performance record of 97.7%. They currently service 1,000 Frito-Lay distribution points, 40 manufacturing plants and 250 Frito-Lay suppliers throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Canada.
