Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, Calif., announced that third-party logistics provider C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. has selected the OmniOne mobile communications system as its wireless workforce solution.

The system operates on mobile phones running Qualcomm’s BREW operating system and will enable contract carriers to receive load assignments and send shipment status updates.
OmniOne features two-way data communication, store-and-forward guaranteed messaging and services such as driver directions. OmniOne integrates with Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS and OmniExpress mobile communications systems as well as other back office software.
C.H. Robinson achieved 2003 gross revenues of $3.6 billion and is based Eden Prairie, Minn.
