Maptuit Corp., Burlington, Mass., announced it has formed an alliance
with Navigation Technologies Corp. of Chicago, Ill.

Maptuit provides the Maptuit FleetNav Suite for fuel optimization and fleet monitoring. The company has also developed a proprietary trucking network database including truck-specific attributes such as truck-approved roads, location of tolls, hazardous roads, low clearance and weight restrictions, and fuel stop locations. The database is updated through live feedback received from Maptuit customers.
Navigation Technologies provides the Navtech map database in which every road segment has up to 160 data attributes, such as access restrictions, one-way streets and speed categories that help optimize navigation. Additionally, Navetech North American maps include points of interest in approximately 50 categories.
"Through this relationship, we will further improve the routes we send our drivers, and offer the trucking industry the most powerful navigation solution to ensure their trucks are safely and cost effectively traveling throughout North American road network," said Jeff Papows, CEO of Maptuit.
