Qualcomm Inc., San Diego, Calif., announced that Cargo Transporters has extended its contract to deploy Qualcomm's OmniTRACS mobile communications system
on its fleet and to beta test selected next-generation Qualcomm wireless solutions.
Cargo Transporters, Claremont, N.C., a unit of the CT Group, operates 400 power units in two truckload divisions, dry van and international.
"Our entire fleet travels 4.2 million miles per month with Qualcomm's
OmniTRACS mobile communications system on board each vehicle," said John Pope, president of Cargo Transporters. "We are excited about the opportunity
to beta test future Qualcomm solutions that will help our business be even
more profitable."
