Transport America announced it is spreading a driver pay increase over a four-month period that included a 37-cent per mile rate in January for experienced drivers.

That rate will go up to 38 cents per mile in February and then up to 39 cents per mile in April.
The rate for owner-operators also increased in January to 83 cents per mile for loaded and empty miles and will go up to 84 cents per mile in February and up to 85 cents per mile in April.
Transport America recently implemented an Hours of Service Protection Plan for drivers. This is a plan devised of additional compensation to protect drivers’ pay.
"The industry is changing, and Transport America is a leader in providing drivers and contractors with the tools they need to be successful," said Larry Bailey, director of recruiting. "The pay increases and protection plans the company is implementing are reflecting that."
Transport America also offers unique programs such as $ure-Pay, which allows drivers to approve and verify their pay after delivering each load, and Guaranteed Get Home Certificates, which guarantee a driver gets home on a specific date requested.
