ArvinMeritor Inc. Commercial Vehicle Systems business group has signed a strategic alliance agreement with North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI) to supply axle/brake systems,
based on European technology, for the transit bus industry.
Beginning this month, ArvinMeritor is supplying NABI with heavy-duty axle and brake systems, including the Meritor 71000 series single-reduction drive axle with Quiet Ride gearing, the FH-946 deep drop front non-drive steer axle and the DiscPlus EX225 air disc brake.
"ArvinMeritor and NABI have a strong history together, and that history gave us the confidence to take the next step to enter into this strategic alliance agreement," said J. T. Price, vice president and head of Global Supply Chain for NABI.
"Our preferred supplier status with NABI provides North American transit authorities the ability to benefit from our industry-leading components," said Larry Dowers, vice president and general manager, Specialty Products and China Operations.
