The Tire Industry Assn. (TIA) has announced the dates and locations for the winter 2004 Commercial Tire Service (CTS) "Truck Tire Training Tour."

The association has scheduled a series of back-to-back, one-day technician training and certification seminars, allowing companies to split their workforce so that all employees have access to the truck tire educational program.
During the fall 2003 tour, TIA trained 244 technicians in 10 different cities across the country. The winter 2004 CTS tour kicks off in Philadelphia on Jan. 27-28 and concludes in Seattle on Feb. 26-27.
A complete list of locations and dates with registration information is available from TIA and is also posted on the association’s web site at www.tireindustry.org.
The cost is $250 for each technician that needs a copy of the TIA CTS Manual and $175 for each technician that already has a copy. Every technician that participates must have his or her own copy of the manual in order to take the certification exam.
Since its inception in 1997, TIA’s CTS Program has educated more than 14,000 technicians and instructors throughout North America. Participation ensures that employee training meets and exceeds the minimum requirements specified by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulation 29 CFR 1910.177.
