J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc., Lowell, Ark., reported the results of its Terion FleetView Trailer Tracking solution deployment.

FleetView has been installed on virtually all of J.B. Hunt's 20,000 dry van trailers along with Terion’s Cargi Sensor over a period of several months.
"It was important that J.B. Hunt wait until the Terion solution was installed and evaluated over time before we shared our results," said Kirk Thompson, president and CEO of J.B. Hunt. "After several months of deployment, we are pleased to report that FleetView Trailer Tracking has delivered significant operational improvements and allowed us to improve our service to our customers and to our drivers.”
"The ability to pinpoint the location of our trailers, as well as identify their loaded status, has increased overall trailer utilization. Our marketing group is now better able to determine if a trailer is empty and available to load, or loaded and ready to be booked," said Mark Palmer, J.B. Hunt director of trailer operations. "In both cases, J.B. Hunt trailers are on the road more quickly and more often, resulting in increased trailer revenue miles."
According to Hunt, FleetView provides better internal and external loading information and serves as a powerful yard management tool. Other important benefits include the ability to locate and protect high-value cargo, reduce cargo theft losses, limit yard checks, and improve information to customers regarding detention.
J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. is one of the largest transportation logistics companies in North America with annual revenues of more than $2 billion. The company operates more than 11,000 trucks and approximately 40,000 trailers and containers.
