Yokohama Tire Corp., Fullerton, Calif., has expanded its drive axle tire line with the introduction of the TY577.

The long-haul tire delivers even wear, exceptional traction and great fuel mileage, says Tokohama.
A key factor to this tire's design is the deep 30/32nds tread depth -- one of the deepest in the industry -- which aids in delivering long original tread wear life. This is coupled with a longest lasting, durable casing.
Built on Yokohama's exclusive MSC (Maintenance Saving Concept) design, the TY577 is equipped with a combination of STEM-2 (Strain Energy Minimization) and MC2 compounding technologies.
STEM-2 technology redirects normally destructive internal strain, reinforcing the casing to allow multiple retreads, while MC2 compounding technology generates less heat, allowing longer casing life and decreased rolling resistance. Because of these technologies, the tire is able to reduce heat and increase tread wear life. Additionally, the TY577 possesses a Stress Wear Control Groove specifically positioned to redistribute the load on the outside rib of the tire, reducing shoulder step down wear. A closed shoulder rib means more rubber-to-the-road contact and increased mileage.
The tire uses Yokohama's optimal funnel shaped groove technology that promotes stone ejection and reduces stone damage increasing block rigidity for added traction, enhanced resistance against uneven wear and superior ride comfort. It also utilizes a newly contoured bead design, allowing the tire to seat evenly against the rim for extremely high uniformity levels around the entire circumference for better tire-to-rim fit, smoother ride, and long even wear.
The TY577 is available in four sizes: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 285/75R24.5 and 11R24.5 -- all with a 14-ply rating. It is supported by an extended warranty covering the product for five-years through three retreads.
