J.P. Donmoyer Inc., Ono, Pa., says a technology decision in December of 2002 has paid off for the company.

J.P. Donmoyer is a regional truckload carrier with 100 tractors, 90 pneumatic tank trailers and 40 dry vans operating from terminals in Ono and York, Pa. The company specializes in moving nonhazardous dry bulk materials, such as limestone, lime and ash, but also offers dry van and flatbed services.
In 2002, Donmoyer decided to replace existing operations software. In December, they chose the TruckMate for Windows solution from Maddocks Systems Inc. Almost a year later, the company is pleased with the results, according to Donmoyer’s Dennis Houser, manager of Information Systems.
“We are now able to easily access data and provide more accurate information in a timely manner to help us make important business decisions; by spending less time working on our software system we are able to dedicate more resources to servicing our clients. We have also benefited from increased billing and driver pay accuracy,” Houser said.
“From a dispatching perspective, rolling estimated time of arrival and real-time dispatch were two things we were never able to accomplish with our previous system but definitely wanted to do with new software,” added Houser.
Maddocks Systems Inc., headquartered in Barnaby, British Columbia, provides the TruckMate for Windows solution for truckload, LTL, intermodal, brokerage and private fleet carriers. The company has more than 400 installed systems throughout North America.
