Dee Kapur, the new president of the Truck Group of International Truck & Engine Corp., will discuss what lies ahead for the heavy duty market segment during the Mid-America Trucking Show at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center, Louisville, Ky.

His remarks will be delivered at the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Assn.’s (HDMA) 14th annual Breakfast & Briefing, scheduled for 8 a.m. on March 26.
"As the industry braces itself for the implementation of the EPA’s 2007 and beyond diesel engine emissions regulations, everyone needs to be aware of the implications for all industry segments and how industry leaders are preparing to respond to the new regulations," said James J. Conner, HDMA managing director. "Whether you are a component manufacturer, fleet, truck or trailer builder, or in parts distribution, you will find it valuable to know how Kapur and International view the industry’s future."
Kapur was named president of International Truck & Engine’s Truck Group in September 2003. He joined International from Ford Motor Co. where he worked for more than 25 years in a variety of engineering, product planning, quality and business positions, most recently as executive director of North American business revitalization – value engineering.
In this role, Kapur led a team focusing on material cost reduction, major systems re-engineering and launching team value management, among other responsibilities.
The HDMA Breakfast & Briefing is always a popular event and has sold out for the past seven years, according to Conner.
The Breakfast & Briefing will be held in rooms 103-105 of the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center. The program will end 30 minutes before the show opens to allow exhibitors time to arrive at their booths.
Tickets for the event are $19.50 each and can be ordered from Ro Olson or Danielle La Dew of HDMA, (919) 549-4800 or hdma@mema.org.
