Truckload carrier Swift Transportation Inc., Phoenix, Ariz., and mobile communications provider Qualcomm Inc., announced that Swift will participate in Qualcomm's untethered trailer tracking management consortium.
The consortium is helping Qualcomm develop untethered trailer asset management technology for the transportation and logistics industry. Swift joins the consortium as a founding member.
Swift is the nation’s third largest publicly held truckload carrier and operates 9,600 tractors in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
