Mettler-Toledo International, Inc., Columbus, Ohio, has introduced the Unattended Weighing Terminal, or UWT, a scale add-on that enables drivers to weigh in and out by themselves with the use of a swipe card.

According to Mettler-Toledo, the UWT fits well in applications with less than 100 trucks per day and basic vehicle and commodity informational tracking requirements. Warehousing, manufacturing, utilities and any industry where commodity, vehicle and weights are the prime focus without need for pricing or billing are candidates for the UWT solution.
The vehicle weighing software stores vehicle tare weights, commodity types, inbound weights, badge ID numbers and interfaces with loops and traffic lights. A transaction summary is provided with inbound, commodity and scale accumulator reports.
Accessories are available, including proximal radio frequency vehicle ID tag reader, integrated kiosk-style ticket printer, intercom, and thermostatically controlled heater.
