Con-Way Transportation Services, a subsidiary of CNF Inc., said two of its less-than-truckload carrier companies and several driver sales representatives have been recognized for their safety records and professional driving skills.

The Arizona Motor Transport Assn. presented Con-Way Western Express (CWX) driver sales representative Ina Daly its 2003 Driver of the Year award. Daly works out of the CWX service center in Phoenix and has driven more than 1.7 million miles without an accident.
She is a regular competitor in the twins category at the yearly National Truck Driving Championships. This year Arizona sent eight competitors to the national competition. Daly headed a field of veterans including three other CWX drivers.
They were Jose Orozco, Tim Taylor and Ross Reynolds from the CWX service center in Tucson. All eight competitors received state driving champion honors at the meeting. Representatives from CWX also accepted two first place Great Western Fleet Safety Awards for being the safest carrier in the local and inter-city categories.
The Nebraska Trucking Assn. honored Con-Way Central Express (CCX) with a 2003 Great Western Fleet Safety Award. In Vermont, CCX driver sales representative Warren Henderson won first runner-up for Vermont Driver of the Year honors from the Vermont Truck and Bus Assn. He works out of the CCX service center in Westminster, Vt. In Minnesota, CCX received the Grand Trophy Award from the Minnesota Trucking Assn. for having the best overall safety record of any trucking company in the state. The company also received safety awards in the over 5 million miles local pickup and delivery category and the over 3 million miles linehaul category.
