Truckload carrier Celadon Group Inc., Indianapolis, Ind., and mobile communications provider Qualcomm Inc., announced that Celadon will participate in Qualcomm's untethered trailer tracking management consortium.

Celadon will work with Qualcomm to further the development of untethered trailer asset management technology for the transportation and logistics industry. Celadon joins the consortium as a founding member.
The Qualcomm Consortium will consist of executives from a select number of companies in the transportation industry. This group will provide direction into how Qualcomm's untethered trailer tracking product will be implemented in the market.
A product direction council has been chartered to help provide feedback on product features. The council will consist of consortium members, who will be permanent members, and non-consortium members whose membership will rotate periodically. Product direction council members will be able to participate in beta product testing.
Celadon Group operates more than 2,600 tractors and 7,000 trailers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
