The American Red Cross in Richmond, Va., is requesting the truck industry's assistance in finding transportation to move water from Chester to various facilities around the state where they are preparing food for those affected by Hurricane Isabel.

Sixteen truckloads of bottled and canned water on pallets have been delivered to a warehouse in Chester. The Red Cross needs transportation to move two truckloads of the water from Chester to a number of areas, including Newport News, Chesapeake, Hopewell, Gloucester, Virginia Beach, Franklin, Kilmarnock and Richmond.
If you have vehicles available, but no drivers, it is possible the Red Cross can provide drivers. The Red Cross will make sure any drivers they provide hold valid CDLs. Also, any vehicles providing transportation for the Red Cross are covered under their insurance policy.
If you can help the Red Cross, please call Jeff Chinn at (703) 289-0417, or (804) 283-2812 or (804) 527-3631.
