XATA Corp, provider of onboard fleet management solutions for the commercial trucking industry, has been awarded orders totaling $1.8 million by an undisclosed major company in the grocery industry.

The orders cover installation of XATA's onboard computers and mobile application modules equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) and wi-fi communications capabilities in more than 500 of the customer's trucks.
The customer will implement the latest enterprise version of XATA's OpCenter fleet management system to enhance customer service and overall fleet efficiency. XATA expects additional volume from the customer going forward.
XATA recently began shipping system components and plans to complete the order in its fourth fiscal quarter that ends Sept. 30, 2003. XATA will generally recognize revenue for these orders as products are shipped.
A pioneer in onboard fleet management solutions since 1985, XATA was among the first to introduce paperless driver logs, exception-based reporting and updated fleet standards.
XATA's products are in use in 30,000 vehicles at more than 1,000 fleet locations across North America.
