The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Assn. (SC&RA) now offers a specialty insurance package for its Allied Industries group, complete with broadform occurrence coverage for products liability.

The specialty package also includes umbrella, property and custom equipment coverage. Workers' compensation and commercial auto lines are also available, subject to size and state of operation.
Structured similarly to the successful programs currently in place for SC&RA’s Crane & Rigging and Transportation industry members, the program is administered by Special Risk Services Group LLC (SRS), which is SC&RA’s preferred provider of customized liability, equipment and cargo insurance. It is distributed through members’ local agents. Coverage is written by various member companies of American International Group Inc. (AIG).
"This is a much-needed insurance program for the Allieds, with broad coverage offered at affordable prices -- a major concern for these members," said Dan Bumby, president of E.C.C.-Lift Systems and chairman of SC&RA’s Allied Industries Group. "This value-added program far surpasses what was offered to Allied members in the past, and will certainly help us with recruitment and membership retention."
"This will allow good coverage to be available to a wide variety of members for reasonable premiums at competitive prices," said George Young, president of George Young Company and SC&RA. "Anytime SC&RA can offer quality insurance provided by top flight insurance companies like AIG – our members win."
Those Allied industry businesses (freight forwarders, heavy lift engineering companies, crane manufacturers, truck/trailer manufacturers, etc.) interested in purchasing insurance through the SC&RA program should consider the following:
-- Only SC&RA’s Allied industry group members are eligible
-- All lines within the initiative will be available this month
-- All purchases will flow through Allied members’ insurance agent to SRS, as SC&RA’s exclusive program administrator
-- Agents will simply submit standard insurance specifications, with reference specifically to SC&RA’s Allied Industries Program
-- Minimum policy premium allowed is $25,000, and final pricing is subject to specific risk characteristics of the company
-- Members will receive coverage from AIG, which is the only carrier that maintains AAA financial ratings from all three of the major rating agencies.
