Satellite company ORBCOMM, Dulles, Va., announced agreement with GE TIP (Transport International Pool Inc.) to provide data transmitting services for GE VeriWise, GE's trailer tracking product.
ORBCOMM to Carry GE VeriWise Trailer Tracking Data

Using ORBCOMM's low-earth orbit satellite network, GE's customers will be able to locate tethered and untethered trailers anywhere in North America.
GE TIP introduced GE VeriWise at the National Private Truck Council meeting in April. The system consists of an ORBCOMM transceiver and battery pack mounted in the trailer nose, and a low-profile antenna placed on the front panel of the trailer. Components can be installed at customer sites or at a local GE TIP facility. The rechargeable four-year battery can operate untethered for up to 120 days.
Trailer location data is sent automatically at regular intervals and is available to customers through a secure sign-on area at the GE TIP web site: http://www.tiptrailers.com
GE selected the ORBCOMM system after extensive testing and evaluation of available technologies.
