Bourns Inc., a California-based electronics manufacturer, has awarded a major international freight-forwarding contract to Menlo Worldwide Forwarding,
a global freight forwarding company.
Previously called Emery Forwarding, Menlo Worldwide Forwarding is one of the Menlo Worldwide group of supply chain service providers. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Menlo Worldwide Forwarding began doing business with Bourns in mid-December 2002, providing warehousing, logistics and cross dock services, as well as air-freight services to and from Los Angeles and Miami to its manufacturing sites in Xiamen, Taipei; San Jose, Costa Rica; Tijuana, Mexico; and Shannon, Ireland.
Menlo also provides air freight services from a third-party vendor in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Xiamen, China; brokerage services through Menlo Worldwide Trade Services; ocean services and domestic air-freight services.
"We are pleased to formalize our relationship with Menlo Worldwide Forwarding," said Jerry Seinturier, worldwide logistics manager for Bourns Inc. "We were looking for a full service provider to decrease freight costs and manage our internal vendor consolidation program. Menlo provided excellent pricing and a smooth transition."
