Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has recognized Yellow Transportation as the recipient of the company's annual Carrier of the Year award.

"Yellow Transportation has provided an outstanding service for Wal-Mart", said David Reiff, Wal-Mart vice president for logistics. "It is our pleasure to recognize their associates for commitment to quality and customer service."
This year, Wal-Mart recognized nine carriers for their outstanding service.
"Yellow Transportation has fostered a strong relationship with Wal-Mart, and we are honored to be part of one of the most sophisticated distribution networks in the world," said James L. Welch, president and chief executive officer of Yellow Transportation. "This recognition is a result of our transportation industry knowledge and the "Yes We Can" attitude of our employees working side-by-side with Wal-Mart."
Selection criteria for the award included revenue/growth, ease of doing business, communication, flexibility, customer service and follow- up/correction of errors.
Wal-Mart Stores operates more than 2,870 discount stores, Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets, and more than 520 Sam's Clubs in the United States.
