KLLM Transport Services Inc., headquartered in Richland, Miss., is making its first $10,000 longevity bonus payout for drivers who worked for the temperature-controlled carrier for five years and drove at least 110,000 miles per year.
"In September, 148 company drivers will receive the bonus," said Kirk Blankenship, director of recruiting for KLLM. "Approximately 30 more company drivers will receive their $10,000 check in calendar year 2003."
Blankenship said the first group of 45 owner-operators will receive their longevity incentive checks in April 2004.
"This is a way that we can show our appreciation to our drivers for their loyalty and outstanding performance in a tough job," he said.
This bonus comes in 2003, which is also the 40th year in operation for KLLM as a temperature-controlled carrier.
"The KLLM longevity bonus will happen, just as it did in January 2003 for 53 drivers at VSI, our dry van division," said Jack Liles, KLLM’s president & CEO. "We want this to be the best place for a person who chooses to drive for a living."
