OrderPro Logistics Inc., an Arizona-based provider of transportation and logistics software systems, has been selected to build and manage a national logistics database service for Pakistan,
a country with a population of about 140 million people.
The goal of the Global OrderPro Logistics Database (GOLD) service is to help trucking companies increase profit, primarily through the coordination of return truckloads to reduce empty miles traveled.
Government studies have found 30% of trucks are traveling empty after they drop off their load at destination. According to Richard Windorski, OrderPro CEO, "Empty trucks, in addition to not generating revenue for companies, are actually wasting billions of gallons of fuel every year. Our GOLD service will help Pakistani truckers reduce this waste and increase their profits."
The GOLD program is based on computer matching technology that integrates databases of trucking availability and location with the requirements of shippers. By centralizing this process in Pakistan and integrating with similar databases in nations that trade with Pakistan, the GOLD program should increase profits for trucking companies and also provide lower prices for participating shippers. The GOLD service allows trucking companies and shippers to provide their information through various communications including: fax, telephone and via the Internet at www.orderprologistics.com.
