Tri-State Express Inc., a LTL carrier out of Huntington, W.Va., has installed FACTS2000, a complete freight management software system.

Keith Earles, Tri-State's president, said the system will help the 25-year-old LTL carrier increase efficiency, make strategic business decisions, manage more successfully and improve customer service.
"This integrated software system gives us the ability to consolidate information, enhances our customer service and frees us from extensive paperwork we had in the past," Earles said.
FACTS2000, developed by Carrier Logistics Inc., Tarrytown, N.Y., can pay for itself by reducing administrative costs related to billing, rating and invoicing. In addition, Earles expects that the system will reduce EDI costs and improve truck routing. Customer service will be improved with FACTS2000's web-based track and trace functionality.
The new system has modules ranging from freight pickup and delivery to accounting, general ledger, routing and operations planning. The system is capable of Internet tracing, wireless communications, call logging and EDI. It will help Tri-State Express maintain their commitment to service as they increase volumes, and it provides automatic rate quotations, billing and accounts receivable, reducing clerical time to process freight bills.
