Top trucking industry security and claims/loss prevention experts are meeting in Charlotte, N.C. today and Tuesday to discuss ways to tackle cargo security challenges and new homeland defense initiatives.

The two-day conference is being held by the Transportation Claims, Loss Prevention & Security Division of the American Trucking Assns.' Safety and Loss Prevention Management Council
U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials were expected to explain agency security initiatives and how new programs will affect the way motor carriers do business. The conference aims to help trucking companies develop strategies to keep their cargo protected and to know how best to prevent goods they are transporting from being stolen.
