Grote Industries has announced the creation of a new, state-of-the-art training program covering truck lighting and electrical systems.

The program is based on multi-media programmed instruction techniques originally developed for the computer and defense industries. Called Grote Know-How, the program designed to give the participant a good working understanding of the basics of vehicle electrical systems, as well as the special requirements of vehicle safety and lighting systems for medium and heavy-duty trucks.
"We feel that there has been a growing need to train frontline personnel in the basics of selection, installation and troubleshooting on one of the most misunderstood systems on a commercial vehicle," said Eric Morris, executive vice president. "These systems and the regulatory environment around them require a completely new approach to teaching".
The Grote Know-How program is comprised of seven elements. These include self study guides, video format training, an Internet course, shop and store posters, fleet night tech tips, distributor certification and a vocational/technical school support program.
"These materials will be rolled out over the next several months, and are free of charge," said John Grote, sales and marketing manager. "The intent is to create a customer base with an unparalleled understanding of the heavy duty truck’s safety systems, as well as Grote’s products to assure safe operation."
