Raising the financial awareness and skills of fleet managers will be the focus of efleetmgmt Inc.'s 2003 "Financial Strategies for Today's Fleet Operations Seminar," April 2-4 in Nashville, Tenn.

A wide range of workshops will provide hands-on information on the vital role finance plays in achieving fleet success. Speakers will discuss effective ways to measure and improve financial performance and communicating that performance with senior management.
"Finance is such an important aspect in how well a fleet operation performs," said Lisa Deyo, president of efleetmgmt. "This will be a great opportunity to build a bridge between upper management and the finance department and fleet managers."
Workshop topics will include strategies for minimizing fleet costs and maximizing revenue, implementing benchmarking results to improve fleet efficiency and reduce operating costs, and utilizing technology to measure and improve financial performance. Other workshops will explore budgeting and supply chain management techniques.
"Evaluating financial alternatives and competitive intelligence are the two most important aspects of fleet management -- period," said Tony Vercillo, president and CEO of International Fleet Management Consultants and one of the seminar's speakers.
Other speakers will be Joe B. Hanna, Ph.D., associate professor of logistics at Auburn University; and R. Patrick White, CTP, former traffic and transportation manager of Coca Cola USA and a principal at WhiteTrans Solutions Inc.
Registration for the three-day event is $399 for efleetmgmt subscribers and $599 for all others. The fee covers daily continental breakfast, lunch, reception, educational sessions and conference materials. To learn more about the seminar, call (540) 399-1010.
