Dana Corp. is closing its truck chassis plant in South Carolina's Kershaw County at the end of the year, resulting in the loss of 100 jobs, according to The State in Columbia.

The move comes on the heels of the November closing of the Mack Trucks assembly plant in Winnsboro.
Dana officials had looking for another customer before the contract to supply other Mack plants ends Dec. 31.
The Dana plant opened in 1987 to supply the heavy truck plant, and has been shipping chassis to other Mack plants since production stopped at Winnsboro.
The plant's employment peaked at 300 in 2000.
Truck sales fell, however, and Mack announced in fall 2001 that the Winnsboro plant would be closed.
