Trimble and CellStar Corp. recently announced that they have signed a logistics and distribution agreement for mobile resource management solutions.
Under the agreement, CellStar, a wireless logistics services provider, will distribute Trimble's Telvisant Mobile Resource Management (MRM) System hardware, including the CrossCheck family of Global Positioning System (GPS) based mobile communications products that use General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) and, when available, CDMA2000 1xRTT wireless data services.
The contract covers logistics and distribution services, customer-specific customization of the CrossCheck units, kit configuration, inventory management as well as fulfillment to customers, vehicle manufacturers and dealers on a global basis.
CellStar says it draws on its ISO 9001:2001 certification and customer service protocols, combined with high-tech order processing and reporting to offer clients premier and customized service.
"This agreement expands CellStar's horizons beyond mobile phones and fulfillment support services," said Jim Thomas, business development director for CellStar. "Both CellStar and Trimble will benefit from the increased global capabilities that this relationship brings."
