Trimble and CellStar Corp., a value-added wireless logistics services company, have announced that they have signed a logistics and distribution agreement for mobile resource management solutions.
Under the agreement, CellStar will distribute Trimble's Telvisant Mobile Resource Management (MRM) System hardware, including the CrossCheck family of Global Positioning System (GPS) based mobile communications products, which utilize General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) and when available, CDMA2000 1xRTT wireless data services.
The contract covers logistics and distribution services, customer-specific customization of the CrossCheck units, kit configuration, inventory management as well as fulfillment to customers, vehicle manufacturers and dealers on a global basis.
"Trimble selected CellStar for its excellent reputation, focus, access to global distribution channels as well as the company's ability to handle customized orders," said Thom Russell, director of service operations for Trimble's Mobile Solutions Division. "This contract goes beyond a traditional fulfillment and logistics service agreement. We see CellStar as an ideal distribution partner who will accelerate the penetration of our mobile resource management solutions in the wireless market."
