At its meeting last week during the 76th annual Ontario Trucking Assn. (OTA) convention, the OTA executive committee and board of directors gave approval in principle to an offer from the NCG Group to purchase the Truck World trade show.

It is expected that the transaction will close within 45 days, pending due diligence and finalization of an official purchase-and-sale agreement.
Terms of the agreement are not being made public at this time. The proposed agreement will provide OTA with a guaranteed revenue stream that will assist the association in its primary mandate of lobbying on behalf of the trucking industry.
At the same time, the sale to NCG ensures that the trade show stays within the industry and has the opportunity to grow. The parties will make no further comment until after closing.
OTA is one of the largest industry associations in North America. NCG produces a number of business-to-business publications serving the trucking, automotive, and construction markets in Canada. Its trucking titles include Today?s Trucking, Truck & Trailer, highwaySTAR and Transport Routier.
