A free roadability seminar and Level 1 roadside inspection demonstration is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday by the Assn. of Bi-State Motor Carriers Inc. at 118 Export St., Port Newark.

The demonstration will be conducted by the New Jersey State Police Commercial Vehicle Inspection Team and is open to the public.
The program is designed to showcase the inspection system used on containers and trailers and the team will be available for questions. "This is an important seminar for all truckers and other port industry companies who want to ensure roadability and safety for their vehicles," said Jeffrey Bader, association president.
The bi-state group focuses on issues and interests of truckers who serve international business in the port areas of New Jersey and New York. "With world trade such a vital part of the region's economy, our association is using every resource available to keep our business viable and state-of-the-art," he added.
The demonstration, as well as a demo of the "Portway Project," is part of the regular monthly meeting of the association. "Our members, prospective members, and any interested others are welcome to this event," said Bader.
