The Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) Worldwide will hold its 23rd annual convention and trade show, Reality Check 2003, at the Marriott New Orleans, Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2003.
"We chose the theme of Reality Check 2003 in response to the tremendous demand for real world practical information on mobile A/C and cooling system repair for automotive, heavy-duty, and specialized forms of transportation that our attendees have asked us to make available to them," remarked MACS President and COO, Elvis Hoffpauir.
Shop owners and technicians have the opportunity to discover the latest mobile A/C and cooling system tools, techniques and technology.
Show highlights include heavy-duty and off-road A/C instructors Fred Johnson and Topper Nurrenbrock of Dyson International; Gary Hansen, vice president of engineering for Red Dot, speaking about air controls for air distribution; Mike Lambe of NEXIQ technologies discussing DTCs and scan tools for heavy-duty and off-road service; Nick Bollweg of John Deere, delivering a presentation on automatic reversing fans, a cure for one of the most common causes of catastrophic off-road A/C system failure -- heat exchanger plugging; Al Leopold, CNH will discuss heavy-duty service, parts and future HVAC ideas.
A new event, "MACS Mobile A/C Career Day," will debut at the show. New Orleans area automotive students and their instructors will be invited to attend convention programs and tour the trade show to discover the many career choices available in the industry.
