More than 130 senior executives from the government, shippers and the transportation industry are scheduled to attend the Cargo Security Forum 2002,

Public and private sectors will discuss how they can work together to develop effective security strategies and guidelines that will not needlessly disrupt the supply chain.
"The impact of theft and possible terrorist attack is immeasurable," said Cal Foster, forum director. "Businesses have to develop a cargo security plan that addresses their entire supply chain. Not a single company can afford to be complacent.
"Every company has a responsibility to its investors, employees, customers and communities to make sure they have taken appropriate measures to improve the security of their goods that move through the supply chain."
Some of the questions to be addressed at the forum include:
