Customers of Averitt Express, Cookeville, Tenn., can now schedule air and ocean international shipments via the Averitt web site.

To book an international shipment, customers enter shipment details into an online international bill of lading form that, when submitted, automatically alerts Averitt that the shipment is ready for pickup.
Customers can also use an "address book" feature to save and access address information of common shippers, consignees, and bill-to parties for easier and quicker submission.
"The goal of this new online tool is to free the customer from having to call in shipment pickup information and improve the accuracy and integrity of the data, which will make the booking process more efficient," said Ernie Valdez, Director of International Services for Averitt.
Averitt currently provides shippers with a wide variety of international transportation services that include complete door-to-door service, freight forwarding, air freight forwarding, ocean less-than-container and full container-load shipping, and ground capabilities to points all over the world.
