"Getting the Bank to Say 'Yes'" will be the next in a series of audio conferences sponsored by the Truckload Carriers Association's Truckload Academy.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. eastern time.
This audio conference will enable trucking executives to understand the ways a bank evaluates a company and a loan request. Learning the "behind the scenes" secrets of how loan applications or financing proposals are evaluated by lenders can improve a company's chances for a "yes" answer.
The audio conference - targeted toward company CEOs/presidents, chief financial officers/controllers, company CPAs, and those dealing with bankers or lenders - will explore the following questions:
  • How does a bank or lender evaluate a loan request?
  • What are the lending limits that may be requested based on a company's balance sheet and income statement?
  • What does a lender typically look for in a loan request?
  • What are the "Six Steps" that will improve a company's chances of getting a "yes" answer on its next financing proposal?

Panel members include Tim Valdez, vice president of Transportation Alliance Bank, Ogden, Utah, and the cofounder of the commercial lending division; Steven Dutro, CPA, vice president, CFOex, with 25 years of financial management experience with public and private companies and as a CPA; Kenneth C. DeWitt, CPA, with extensive experience dealing with all types of businesses getting financing from bankers and other lenders, and in keeping those relationships strong; and Frank Bove, president of United Cartage Co. Inc. in Gas City, Ind., and a director of State Financial Bank with 40 locations in Indiana.
The cost to participate in the audio conference, which includes the handouts and materials, is $129 for TCA members and $159 for non-members. Audiotapes of the conference will be available for the same fee as the live audio conference for those who could not participate on the day of the event, or for $59 for those who did participate. To register, visit www.truckloadacademy.org and click on "audio conferences" or call 800/775-7654.
To get the most out of the audio conference, participants are urged to dial-in using a speakerphone and have as many employees as possible listen in, all for the same low cost. The seminar will include an interactive question and answer session so that many of the participants' questions can be addressed.
