The Ambassador Bridge crossing the U.S.-Canadian border between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, has added three more Customs inspection lanes for commercial trucks.

These lanes have been outfitted with temporary inspection booths constructed by the Ambassador Bridge and are able to accommodate U.S. Customs officers.
These three additional inspection lanes will immediately increase processing capacity by full 50% if and when staffed by the U.S. Customs Service, say bridge officials, who predict they could eliminate long and costly backups.
"The staffing of these new booths is required immediately and will significantly reduce severe daily backups of commercial vehicles on the streets of Windsor, Ontario, and support Michigan and Ontario's just in time industry," said Dan Stamper, President of the Ambassador Bridge.
