Bakersfield Truck Center is moving after 24 years near 7th Standard Road and Highway 99 in Bakersfield, Calif.

According to published reports, The longtime Freightliner dealership will double its space in a newly built 44,000-square-foot building just south of its current site on Golden State Avenue. The company sells new and used commercial trucks, services trucks, and sells parts. Since it was founded in 1978, the company has grown from 25 employees and sales of 50 trucks a year to 70 employees and 400 to 500 trucks annually. With the expansion, they hope to increase new and used truck sales to between 500 and 800 a year.
The larger site will also allow the company to service more vehicles.
The Bakersfield center is part of California Truck Centers, a family-owned business that started in Fresno in 1930. The Fresno-based company has centers in Fresno, Modesto, Oakland, Stockton, Sacramento and Bakersfield.
